2009 Utah Top Bloggers
Brandy Roth – Brandy won the contest with an impressive 69% of the total votes cast. Her win shows bloggers that update regularly with quality content can build the community necessary to win a contest like this. Congratulations Brandy!
Top Blogger Finalists – We also had four finalists of mention:
Honorable Mention – There was a tie for the last two qualifying positions. The winners were drawn out of a hat, but the other two deserve mention; Paul Allen and Stephanie Nielson.
For a list of the original nominees and judging criteria, please see the official contest post. Congratulations to all the winners!

No one else stands a chance against Heather Armstrong! Hands down the best blogger in Utah (by popularity and fame). But I’m honored to be on the list though.
Blog on,
Janet
I realize it’s unfair to have her on there, but I think the judging criteria will create a more level playing field.
Nigel
Thanks for including me on the list, but I agree with NewspaperGirl- Heather does this as her profession… the other votes are popularity.
You obviously haven’t been following Connor Boyack’s blog then. He has the most original, thought provoking blog around. I guarantee you, it isn’t just a popularity vote.
Personally I would vote for anyone but Dooce. Off to get acquainted with some blogs. Good luck everyone!!
Brandy’s blog is by the far the best and most entertaining blog I have ever read!
Brandy rocks!
Brandy is hilarious. Thank goodness she’s not a tech blogger that would vote for himself! Bravo Brandy!
Thanks for the nomination – there are a few on here I wasn’t aware of!
I don’t mean any disrespect to Heather Armstrong but why is her blog so popular? I have tons of friends with blogs that are identical to hers as far as content goes but no one has even heard of them. Is it because I’m a man? I just don’t understand why anyone would want to read about someone elses dog and kid on a daily basis.
It’s because she invented the genre of Mommy bloggers. She famously got fired from her job for blogging, “dooced” and has developed and kept an audience since then. Your friends that blog were quite possibly influenced by her. That’s all. I don’t read her blog frequently, but she continues to carry a lot of influence, hence her inclusion on this list.
Well, I learned something new today. I wasn’t trying to say she shouldn’t be on the list, I was just wondering why she is so popular. Or why any of the mommy blogs are popular. I don’t read a lot of blogs so it has been nice to see some good local blogs.
How did they select who got on this list? I personally like Connor Boyack’s blog. It is very informative & provokes deep thinking.
I always learn cool new things when I read Connor’s blog. He makes me dig deep into my thought process. I especially like the preparedness info he shares.
connor Boyack has an amazing political and deep thinking blog. It blows all other political blogs out of the water. It always promotes some great discussions.
Connor’s blog is incredible. I’m always amazed at anyone who is willing to put the time into helping others become more informed. Even though I may disagree with some of the positions he takes, I find myself being forced to think a lot more critically about why I believe the way I do about certain issues. I have been forced to take a stand on many issues that I was previously unaware of. To me there is no greater compliment than someone forcing someone to take positive action. Love Connor’s blog!
Connor’s knowledge and his ability to connect it to what is going on in this nation are highly commendable. He not only understands what’s going on but ties it to history and the gospel (for those who care to connect). He is the one I turn to when I don’t understand an issue and need further light and knowledge!
Greetings,
